3" 3 JAW CHUCK SCROLL TYPE
$39.95
This is a shifter kit which was used to shift gears on a lathe. The kit has 3 detent positions which lock in positively. ( Think like the shifter on your transmission) Made of steel and precisely machined, it would be a great item for a DIY lathe or mill or other equipment where you want to build a F-N-R gear shifter or a Hi-Neutral-Low belt tensioner. It could even be used to make contact on switches for various electrical applications. The steel body has a locating boss and 3 tapped holes to mount it to a bulkhead with the shifter making a nice professional look on the outside and the shifting arm inside the housing. The shifting segment moves in a 15 degree angle each side of zero giving a .5" travel each way. A longer segment could be welded on for a greater travel, or another hole closer to center could be drilled to shorten the travel. The main arm could also be shortened or lengthened. To design, test and fabricate a unit like this would take days.
